Amsterdam Port Authority

The Port of Amsterdam is an international logistical hub. A multipurpose port with an innovative all weather terminal for covered storage on coasters and inland vessels, a state of the art container terminal, and a modern cruise terminal. A new business park of 110 hectares is developed, dedicated for logistics companies. Amsterdam Airport Schiphol is located l5 minutes by car from the Port area. By rail, barge, truck and short sea the Port of Amsterdam offers direct access to all European markets with their millions of customers.

















Many well-known international companies chose Amsterdam as their gateway to Europe. Starbucks, Hitachi, Cargill, Oiltanking and Nichia have their home base in the porc area. All mayor logistic service providers are active in the port area, example given DHL, Frans Maas, ABX and Salvesen. Around 38,000 people are employed in the port. Over 70 million tons of cargo is handled in the port last year. The port of Amsterdam is where shipping, industry and logistics come together.
